We have a new fabulous Studio which can be accessed easily by public transport. Leith Victoria Swim Centre, which has recently undergone a £1.3m pound refurbishment yet retained the charm of the Victorian Baths, and blended it with a brand new mirrored Studio with sprung wooden floors. There is a free car park with *limited* parking, and on street parking that is free (make sure you don’t park in the nearby zoned parking—indicated with signs). Parking in Leith can be a bit tricky at times, leave 20 minutes to be sure of finding somewhere. There are lockers (bring a pound to operated them—pound is returnable), showers & proper changing rooms. As always with these studios which are designed for pumping aerobics classes, they can get a bit chilly at times, so please bring layers and warm socks for when we’re not dancing (e.g. during demonstrations) There are vending machines on site for cold drinks, plus shops nearby. Bring snacks for the break. Hotels etc. Within walking distance are two nice guest houses (we’ve had a look at both of them). The rooms are a bit cosy, but we would be happy to stay at these places: The Abbotford Guest House www.abbotfordguesthouse.co.uk The Balmoral Guest House www.balmoralguesthouse.co.uk For your more standard Hotel style place, there is the Holiday Inn Express on Picardy Place (a short easy bus ride away from the venue), which can be a bit pricy in high season. Places to eat: There’s also some really nice places to eat nearby—Britannia Spice (curry), or one of the many branches of Giulianos, if you haven’t tired of bellydancing, you can sometimes see dancers at Morocco, on Dundas Street, or Empires in St. Mary Street. In Edinburgh, Restaurants are often fully booked on Friday and Saturday nights, so it’s important to book in advance.
