If you are coming using SAT NAV - DON’T USE THE POST CODE !!! Use the Co-ordinates (the post code takes you to a cement works!). For more information, including written driving directions and public transport options click here. Hotels etc. If it were me, I’d opt to stay in town at the Raj, as there is not much to do near the airport (the Music Box is nearer the airport area of town) and the accommodation is a bit pricey. If you feel sure you would like to stay near the Airport and the venue—there isn’t anything within walking distance, but these places are the nearest nice ones: Norton House Hotel (most luxurious) Novotel Edinburgh Park (nearest) More central is the original Raj Hotel—which is both cheaper and on the right side of town for a bus / train or taxi (£12—£15) to the venue. It’s not complete luxury (some of the carpet is a bit worn), but it’s got lovely furniture & Indian theme thing going—and the breakfast sometimes has fresh fruit, the staff are lovely too. This is the one I would stay at for both location & price reasons. The Travelodge Edinburgh Haymarket is right near Haymarket Train station, and near the x48 bus route which stops 10 mins away from the venue. I haven’t stayed here, but it’s cheap as chips if you book well in advance. Especially on Rugby weekends when the price of accommodation sky rockets. The rugby people can’t tell me in advance when they are planning events, as otherwise I’d avoid them. |
